Greetings from Nashville! I write to share the news that Vanderbilt will not require scores from the SAT or ACT exams for students applying to enter the university in fall 2021. I recognize that many of your students are dealing with difficult impacts caused by the global pandemic, including for some, a change in employment and concern over a loved one’s health. In addition, I realize that preparation for and access to standardized testing have also been greatly affected. I hope the change in our application requirements relieves some stress for your students and their families during this difficult time.
Vanderbilt has also implemented a permanent new policy to accept self-reported ACT and SAT test scores for all future applicants. For more information about Vanderbilt’s new test-optional policy, please visit our website.
As a reminder, your students can learn more about Vanderbilt’s admissions process by registering for an Online Information Session or one of our many VirtualVU sessions.
We value your continued partnership, and we look forward to connecting with you and your students soon.
Sincerely,
Douglas L. Christiansen, Ph.D.
