As you continue to work with your students, we wanted to keep you apprised of a few updates and one exciting new opportunity.
Early Action Admission Decisions
- Our first Early Action decisions were released Friday, November 15. We review, decide and release decisions electronically each week with students receiving an email at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time with instructions to login to their Linfield Admission Portal. Admission decisions also include a student's merit-based scholarship award, if they were eligible.
- Applicants also receive their admission decision and scholarship award by postal mail.
- If a student applied for need-based financial aid, an offer of financial aid will be mailed once we have concluded the review of all Early Action applicants.
- Early Action candidates who have yet to complete their application are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. We are notifying students of their missing items regularly. Applicants with missing items at the conclusion of our Early Action application review will be moved to Regular Decision and notified accordingly.
- Linfield utilizes Slate as our admission and application system of record and are happy to share information with counselors through Slate.org. If you have not already, you can sign up for Slate.org for free and have access to upload materials, check your students' application status and decisions.
Linfield Tuition Commitment
We're excited to launch a new program this year - the Linfield Tuition Commitment. Our commitment is for the top five percent of Linfield's admitted first-year (domestic, non-visa seeking) students will receive scholarships so they pay no more than $12,000 in tuition for their first year. Our goal is to bring Linfield tuition cost in line with that of an in-state public university. Eligible students will be notified on or before March 20 based on the recalculated weighted GPA on their most recently submitted transcript.
Students are encouraged to participate in and be considered for all other Linfield scholarships, including Linfield Scholarship and Visit Weekend, Linfield First (for first-generation students) and music scholarships, and financial aid. To be considered, students must complete their applications by our February 1 Regular Decision priority deadline.
If you have questions about the Linfield Tuition Commitment, other ways we work to make Linfield an affordable option, or anything else, we welcome you to contact us at 800-640-2287.
Sincerely, Lisa, Patrick, Matt, Aaron, Tiffany, Mary Beth, Emily, and Madison aka, the Linfield Admission Team |
