Hello and Happy November from Athens!   It's hard to believe that it's already November! It seems like this year has flown by as we're preparing for decision release and we can only imagine how busy it is for you too! With this in mind, we have three quick updates for you.  Dawg Bytes Highlights: FAFSA: The 2020-2021 FAFSA is now available. The priority deadline for Georgia is December 15 and we recognize the process can be confusing and difficult – so we recommend students start looking at it now. They can find more information about it online at fafsa.ed.gov. EA Decisions: Mark your calendars as we’ll officially release decisions for our Early Action applications in the late afternoon on Friday, November 22. Regular Decision Deadline: Don’t forget our Regular Decision deadline is January 1 and materials are due January 8. I'd like to provide you some brief updates and exciting information for students.

Housing & Orientation Signups

Admitted students can now register for Red Raider Orientation and reserve campus housing for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Priority Scholarship Deadline

Encourage your students to apply for admission and scholarship prior to the Priority Scholarship Deadline. The priority deadline is December 1, 2019 for incoming freshmen and March 1, 2020 for incoming transfers.

Raider Roadshows

Texas Tech is coming to a city near you! We're bringing deans, faculty and staff representing over 100 academic majors and programs to meet with your students. Students can register at www.admissions.ttu.edu/roadshow.

Group Tours

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions Provides high school groups with custom campus tours tailored to their interests. Group tours are welcome Monday-Friday. Schedule your spring visit here. 

THE UNIVERSITY OF TULSA

In an effort to help you communicate scholarship information to your students, we wanted to provide some information regarding the Presidential Scholarship, TU's most prestigious academic merit award.

The Presidential Scholarship covers full tuition for four years (8 consecutive undergraduate semesters total, excluding summers).

The deadline for students to apply is January 15, 2020. Students can apply using this special application, which can also be used to apply for the Honors Program, Global Scholars, the Presidential Leaders Fellowship, Early Careers in Community Medicine and the Presbyterian Leaders & Scholars Program. Interested students will also need to have completed the TU application or the Common App by January 15.

Presidential Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, applicants must meet one or more of the following eligibility requirements.

• National Merit Semi-Finalists who list The University of Tulsa as School of Choice
• National Hispanic Scholars who rank in the top 10% of their graduating class
• Students who score in the top 1% on ACT/SAT (or earn a superscore of 33 on the ACT or a superscore of 1450 on the SAT) AND EITHER
  • Rank in the top 5% of their graduating class OR
  • Have at least a 4.0 weighted grade point average

Presidential Scholarship Interviews
All Presidential Scholarship applicants will be notified by January 31 if they have been selected for an interview, are on the waitlist for an interview, or if they are no longer being considered for the scholarship. Students who are selected for an interview will have until February 7 to confirm an interview date and time. If anyone selected for an interview opts not to continue, we will notify students on the interview waitlist accordingly.The Presidential Scholarship web page offers a inclusive list of frequently asked questions and application requirements. Upcoming KU Deadlines & Reminders

KU Scholarship Deadline Extended to Nov. 10 Students who apply by Nov. 10 are automatically considered for thousands of dollars in scholarships. As a reminder, students can submit their December test score for scholarship consideration, so long as they apply by Nov. 10. apply.ku.edu Encourage Honors Program Applicants Honors students experience highly individualized advising, engaging courses taught by outstanding faculty members and post-grad success - University Honors has a 98 percent graduate placement rate which is one of the highest in the nation. The priority application deadline has been extended to Dec. 1. honors.ku.edu Register for a Campus Visit Visiting campus is one of the best ways for students to get a feel for life as a Jayhawk. Students will learn about everything the University of Kansas has to offer, including our outstanding academic programs and rich traditions and history. SCAD AUSTIN EVENT

SCAD will be hosting an 

Info Session in Austin, TX 

on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 am 

at the W Austin Hotel. 

This is a free event and there will be a formal presentation about the university, followed-by a professor-led workshop.

Greetings from The University of Tulsa!

We know that life is crazy this time of year. In an effort to reduce stress for you and your students, TU is extending its Application Fee Waiver and Priority Admission Consideration deadline to Friday, November 15. If you are working with students to complete their applications, they now have until November 15 to do so. You may also take the extra time to submit transcripts for them.

Please help us notify students of the deadline extension.
