Hello and Happy February! I hope this month is going well for you.  We are still officially in quiet time meaning that it may take us a little longer to respond to emails as we limit our engagements and interactions to focus on reading. With this in mind, this month I thought I’d share with you three fun facts about the University of Georgia. Dawg Bytes Highlights: Experiential Learning.  UGA is the largest public university to require that students graduate with an experiential learning experience - this includes the kinds of hands-on experiences that take what students learn in the classroom and apply it to real life. It can encompass a lot of different things, but most commonly includes internships, research experiences, and study abroad experiences.   Double Dawgs. Our Double Dawgs program offers students an opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in five years in over 190 combinations. UGA Outcomes. Our Career Center recently completed a Career Outcomes Survey that ask students what they’re up to within six months of graduation. Of those who answered, 96% are employed or continuing their education within six months of graduating.  I hope all is well for you and GO DAWGS! Amanda R. Greetings from The University of Tulsa!

Music and Art scholarships are available! Please encourage your students who may be interested to apply!

Music Scholarships- The School of Music offers scholarships to music majors and non-music majors. Information can be found on our website. Interested students must complete their auditions by March 1. Please tell your interested students to complete the Music Audition Request Form to schedule an audition. They can call 918-631-2262 with questions.

Art Scholarships- Deadline to apply is March 1. For more information, visit our website and click Scholarships at the bottom of the page. The Art Scholarship application can be found here.

Please encourage your students to visit campus!

Tulsa Time Overnight Visit Program - Spots are still available for this event open to high school seniors. Students will tour campus, spend the night in a residence hall or campus apartment, hear from professors about course work, research and community projects and meet potential future classmates! It is a 24-hour crash course on all things TU.

It's January, which means Carnegie Mellon's Office of Admission is hard at work reviewing applications. We are privileged to get to know our applicants through their essays, recommendations and personal statements. In order to develop a community that promotes an atmosphere of collaboration, innovation and success, we review applications holistically, considering applicants within the context of their experiences and interests, while also considering the goals of our institution.

The Office of Admission is happy to help guide you and your students through every step of the application and financial aid process – please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Dates to Remember

• The first-year Common Application for Carnegie Mellon officially closed on January 1. 
• Required application documents were due on January 15. If a student's Where Am I in the Process? portal shows any missing documents, those documents should be submitted as soon as possible. 
• The fall transfer application deadline is February 15. 
• The financial aid deadline is February 15. 

Things to Know

• We offer need-based financial aid to our students. Visit Financial Aid at Carnegie Mellon to learn more. 
• To check the status of application or financial aid documents, students should check their Where Am I in the Process? portals. Learn more about the portal here.
• We don't consider demonstrated interest in our admission process or accept supplemental materials from applicants. You can read more about our focus on access and equity in the admission process here.

Mark Your Calendars: April Visits Are Coming Soon!

At Carnegie Mellon, we're always excited to have future Tartans visit and explore all that our university has to offer! Admitted students can save the date to visit for our Turn Tartan Overnight on April 5-6 or for our Celebration of Diversity Weekend on April 4-6. Guests can meet other admitted students, current students, faculty and staff while learning more about the Carnegie Mellon community.

While all applicants will receive notice of these events, please note they are both for admitted students only. Students should not make travel arrangements before they've received their admission decisions and learned whether or not they've been accepted. Registration for these programs will be available late March.

TEXAS A&M - FAST-TRACK TO AGGIELAND

FAST-TRACK to AGGIELAND

Freshmen Aggies Spreading Tradition

Our organization is hosting a conference called FAST-Track on April 3-April 5, 2020.  High school students will have the opportunity to tour Texas A&M’s campus, dive into the university’s many unique traditions, learn about leadership and student life from current and former Aggies, and gain valuable knowledge about Texas A&M and the admissions process.

Whether you are a first or fourth generation Aggie, curious about college, or plan on attending A&M yourself one day, FAST-TRACK is a resource of information for future college students planning for a successful academic future, all while having fun with other participants your age.

We can only accept the first 70 applicants who sign up, so register early! The cost for the entire weekend is $120. This includes everything: all meals, lodging, a t-shirt, and the Fighting Texas Aggie Experience! Once your registration form has been processed, you will receive an email with detailed information for the conference.

You do not want to miss this unforgettable weekend of activities and information to help you in the pursuit of the right college for you!

LINFIELD COLLEGE

Greetings from Linfield, As always, we hope this email finds you well as we reach the halfway point for this academic year. We wanted to provide you a quick update on Linfield admission, and also share the message below that we sent out to all applicants who are still missing their mid-year report. That message is below, but the important part is we wish to receive updated transcripts by March 2. Students with updated transcripts received after March 2 will not be considered for possible scholarship increases. As a reminder, our Regular Decision priority deadline is Saturday, February 1. However, we will continue to accept applications after the deadline. We do encourage students to submit their applications as soon after the deadline as possible to ensure we are able to provide notification of admission, scholarship and financial aid with plenty of time before the May 1 matriculation fee deadline. If there is anything we can do to support you or your students in the college search and decision process, do contact us at 800-640-2287. Sincerely, Office of Admission Linfield College With your senior year halfway over and first semester finals likely completed, we'll need an updated transcript soon. As part of the admission process, we require an updated transcript for all students admitted prior to their seventh semester or tenth trimester. Once received, we review your transcript in order to do the following: Calculate Your GPA: We previously recalculated your GPA giving additional weight to AP, IB and dual enrollment courses. We'll update your GPA with your most recently completed term grades. Check Your Courses: To ensure you are continuing to prepare yourself for the rigors of Linfield, we'll review your most recent grades and verify you are continuing your previously planned schedule. Verify Your Scholarship: The Office of Admission shares all updated academic information with the Office of Financial Aid. If increases to your academic profile (GPA and test scores, if submitted) equate to a higher merit-based scholarship, you will be notified with an updated offer of financial aid. All applicant records will be reviewed once their transcript or scores are received. We do not reduce scholarships for minor decreases in academic profile. We request that your mid-year transcript is submitted online or through postal mail by Monday, March 2. If you plan to send updated SAT or ACT scores, official score reports must be received by March 2 in order to be considered for scholarship revisions. True Blue Fridays

ANY Senior who attends one of our True Blue Fridays this February, and chooses to enroll at Angelo State this summer or Fall 2020 semester, will receive:

1.    A $250 scholarship per semester which is renewable for up to 8 long semesters/4 academic years. That is a total of $2,000 in scholarships, and all you have to do is make sure you are maintaining good grades throughout your time here at ASU.

2.    Additionally, if you choose to apply for housing, by March 31^st , housing cost will freeze/stay the same for you as long as you are living on campus (if you register for housing by March 31^st); regardless of if housing cost increases during your time as a student.

3.    Lastly, you will receive a $50 discount on registration for Ram RoundUp, if you sign-up by March 31^st.
