UNIVERSITY OF TULSA

Good Morning!

We wanted to share with you a poem written by Teresa Bont, the Senior Regional Director of Admission,
who resides and works with students in the St. Louis area. Each year, Teresa writes a poem for a
conference in which she presents information about The University of Tulsa. Teresa's unique
presentation leaves a memorable impression with her audience, so we thought we would share it with you.

We hope you enjoy it!

A student chooses a college
for many different reasons.
Academics, research or athletics
Or just a chance to see all four seasons.

TU's strengths are in the STEM fields,
Like engineering and computer science.
Health sciencesbusiness, and law
Also create a nice alliance.

Through general and core curriculum classes,
Our commitment to the arts stands strong.
We also have 25 majors in these areas
Where interested students can surely belong.

Regardless of academic interest,
Creativity and critical thinking are stressed.
Clear communication skills are honed
So our students can present at their best.

Our new Center for Student Success
Has many services all in one place.
Every student will have a success coach
To support the experiences they want to embrace.

These coaches will help students develop goals
And articulate their lives yet to come.
They'll find resources for students' needs
Helping to create happy and successful alums.

TU students are academically focused
But they don't just stare at their computer screens.
They have lots of extracurricular interests,
Like sports, Greek Life and anything in between!

The TU community has a strong social conscience
So, community service often tops the list
Of activities students are interested in pursuing
As they're often looking for ways to assist.

Just a short drive from campus is the Gathering Place;
And is deemed a "park for everyone".
With accolades from USA Today and Time,
This interactive environment is tons of fun!

To help high school seniors experience TU
There will be a Tulsa Time Program this fall.
On November 10th and 11th
During which they'll spend the night in a residence hall.

With a total enrollment of 4,400,
The TU community is a strong force.
I hope you can see your students thriving at TU.
And that we're a university you'll continue to endorse.

Have a great day!
