University of Oklahoma

Hello from the University of Oklahoma!

As we all continue to navigate the college admissions process during the COVID-19 outbreak, I wanted to check in with some updates. In order to give students more time to decide where they’ll be attending college, we have decided to extend our enrollment commitment deadline to June 1 and we are now accepting updated ACT/SAT test scores through July 31. We have also recently created a webpage listing all of these updates, as well as some of our big plans for the next recruitment cycle here.

In regards to summer plans, you can find updates and changes here. We are also keeping a close eye on housing and we are encouraging students to refer to their website for the latest information.

In the meantime, I wanted to give you an update on your students who have applied to OU. Attached is a list of students who have received an admission decision from us, a list of students who are missing items (and what they are missing), a list of students who have applied and are awaiting a decision, and finally, a list of students who have submitted their enrollment commitment and scheduled their online New Sooner Orientation. The document is password protected. Please use: boomer. Also, friendly remember this list is confidential, so please do not share the information with others. Please allow two to three weeks for submitted documents to be assigned to a student’s account.  If you have already submitted the documentation that is being requested in this time frame, we may still be processing it.

You’ll notice that one missing item may be a final transcript, please ignore this right now, as this will not need to be submitted until the end of the school year. We know that grades may look different in this time of uncertainty and we are prepared to evaluate what you all are able to provide. Please note that this list does not include students who have started but not submitted the Common Application or Coalition Application, so it may not be an extensive list.

Finally, please let me know if I can help you with any questions whatsoever. I want to serve as a resource for you and your students. I know this is a difficult time for everyone, so please let me know how I can assist.

I really look forward to seeing your students at OU next fall!

Best wishes,

Mr. Taylor Petersen
