Greetings from the University of Vermont!

The University of Vermont has made the decision to suspend our on-campus courses and the residential component of our Summer Academy program, but our pre-college programs will continue—fully online—so that we may continue to serve our students and help them achieve their academic goals.

We're all adjusting to the "new normal" due to the events of recent weeks, and your students may be acclimating to online learning through your high school while we shelter in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. At UVM, we can't imagine a "normal" that doesn't include the academic development and unwavering support of our students.

If your students are considering taking college-level courses this summer to earn transferable credits and explore future career options, don't allow them to miss the summer learning opportunities available online through the University of Vermont and take advantage of UVM's 50% tuition savings* for out-of-state students.

Our summer pre-college courses provide motivated high school students with a variety of opportunities to:
  • Earn college credits
  • Discover a new interest and potential career paths
  • Explore a subject that isn't offered at their high school
  • Gain a competitive advantage when applying to college
Additionally, UVM’s Summer Academy program, now offered fully online, is open for enrollment for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students, providing them with the unique opportunity to earn 3 college credits through intensive 4-week courses.

We're pleased to announce the new Summer Academy Online Enrichment Learning Community Experience!

The Online Enrichment Community is designed to prepare high school students for life in college and beyond by, providing best practices in online teaching and learning, building study skills, and learning about the college admissions process. Students also gain an introduction to the University of Vermont community.

This year’s Summer Academy course offerings include:
  • Adventures in Neuroscience
  • Facing Environmental Futures
  • Health & Medicine
  • Biomedical Science and Human Disease
  • Storytelling with Words and Photographs
  • Drones for Environmental Mapping
